  1. Elimination of distractions

This is the most essential part of a success story. Everyone can determine and manifest but the one who eliminates his/her distractions increases his/her odds of achieving success by a lot because doing so requires courage. Distractions are inevitable and cannot be “ignored”: there’s a reason why they are called so. The question arises — How to overcome distractions? You simply need to eliminate them. My method is — when you are in a motivational state of mind, make a list of your distractions and get rid of them. It can be deleting an app, deleting an account, informing others that you are not going to indulge in certain activities anymore, etc. Although I am not a professional psychologist, I know that the human brain tends to move towards tasks that are easy to perform and easily available. You need to make the distractions unavailable and tough to perform. You will automatically feel the motivational thoughts running through your brain whenever you get attracted to those distractions. However, this will take a lot of courage at the point when you decide to do this task.

Fun fact: The idea to write this article popped into my mind when I was doing this task to eliminate distractions

2. Convert your weaknesses into strengths

This is a very useful tactic to control your brain. All of us have different weaknesses so I cannot provide a universal method for all but I will tell you how I used to do it. I am a lazy person and my addiction to my phone was one of my biggest weaknesses. I thought of a method to control my addiction by using my weaknesses. It popped up that I can keep my phone away from myself or switch it off so that my lazy attitude would prevent me from using it. From then on, I followed this tactic and it saved me a great amount of time. You can see that I used two weaknesses- “lazy attitude and addiction to phone” to my advantage. This tactic is extremely effective; you just need to recognize your weaknesses and figure out a way to convert them into your strengths. You must not try to copy others’ methods even if you have some weaknesses because following and abiding by your own rules will give you a sense of self-responsibility. Only your brain can tell what will work for you and what will not. Performing this task will require discipline as you need to abide by a set of rules every day with no exceptions. If you make exceptions, you will weaken your determination.

3. Aim for Self-satisfaction

Generally, people set goals and stop when they achieve them. This will not allow you to unleash your potential. What happens is that when you do so, you forget why you started in the first place. You do not learn anything in the process. You suppose that you have become your best version even when you have not. Success is defined by some people monetarily, academically, etc. but that is just evidence of hard work to others. But Real success is “Self-satisfaction”
